CTMS Society Volunteers

Welcome to a new opportunity for Volunteering with CTMS. We have set up a series of committees to help with Festival planning and other CTMS activities during the year. We are looking for both individuals with special skills and/or experience (see skills needed below) as well as people who can implement tasks (no advanced training is necessary).

SKILLS GENERALLY NEEDED:
We need volunteers in the following skill areas:
  • Clerical Staff (typists, other office computer skills).
  • Donor Relations (writers for the newsletter).
  • Advertising & Publicity (graphic artists, page layout, marketing experience, writers).
  • Sales (direct group sales).
  • Web Site (writers to create and update content for the site).
  • Event Staff for the California Traditional Music Society Center for Folk Music (setup and cleanup, taking tickets, etc.).
WHERE WILL YOU WORK:
Most clerical staff volunteers will work in the CTMS Center for Folk Music during normal business hours, the other volunteers will work with the new committees. Some of the tasks for various committees can be done from your home. Event help normally takes place in the evening or on weekends at either the CTMS Center for Folk Music or the nearby Encino Community Center.
BECOMING A SOCIETY VOLUNTEER:
All you need to do to become a Society Volunteer is to complete an application and return it to CTMS. You will be contacted by the Volunteer Committee who will match you to an assignment.
